In a Tiny House

This is a song my mother sang to us when we were growing up. (Mama sang a line, and we would repeat)

In a tiny house
By a tiny stream
Sat a lovely lass
Who had a lovely dream
And the dream came true, quite unexpectedly,
In a gilly gilly hosenefferkabanellerbogen by the sea.

She was out one day
Where the tulips grow
When a handsome lad
Stopped to say hello
And before she knew, he kissed her tenderly,
In a gilly gilly hosenefferkabanellerbogen by the sea.

The happy pair were married
One Sunday afternoon
And they sailed away
One sunny day
To spend their honeymoon
In a gilly gilly hosenefferkabanellerbogen by the sea.

In a tiny house
By a tiny stream
Sat a lovely lass
Who had a lovely dream
And the dream came true, quite unexpectedly,
In a gilly gilly hosenefferkabanellerbogen by the sea.

Erin gave me a dish garden pot for Fathers' Day which yielded miniature green peppers, hot pointy peppers, and lovely little white eggplant with lavender streaks. Featured in the herb corner of our garden, it brought us lots of pleasure and conversation.

Now that song is stuck in my head. I have fond memories of singing this to my girls as their own lullaby. After they learned to talk they would request it so I would stay in their room longer at bedtime! Thanks for the memories!

When Rebecca was little, Mama would sing the song with Rebecca on the phone. Mama would start the line "In a tiny..." and then pause for Rebecca to finish the line. Great memories.
